  • Dermabrasion, where a mechanical exfoliant is used to smooth the skin
  • Laser therapy that uses focused light to reduce scar tissue
  • Chemical peels that remove the surface layers of skin to reveal fresh, new tissue beneath
  • Skin bleaches which lighten the color of scars, making them less noticeable

• Injectable Treatments: Used to soften or shrink affected tissue. These injections can help reduce the appearance of raised scars, such as keloids or hypertrophic scars.

• Surgical Scar Revision: Involves removing the scar and reattaching the skin for a smoother appearance. This option is typically used for more severe scars, including contractures.

After undergoing any of these treatments, it’s common to experience swelling, bruising, and discomfort in the affected area for the first several weeks. While results are usually long-lasting or permanent, it may take several months to a year for the final results to become fully apparent.
